I was told yesterday morning that the couple that visited from Rio de Janeiro is coming tomorrow to finalize the adoption of my Sabrina. She has been my shadow for the last several months and has often called me "mom." My heart aches as I realize I may never see her again...but rejoices that God has allowed me to play a small role in her life. When she was told that she was going to be adopted and move away from CLM, she immediately and emphatically told our director that she didn't want to go. Our director asked me to talk with her and although I broke down in tears several times, I am grateful that the Holy Spirit spoke through my frailty. Today, she was actually referring to the couple as "mom and dad" and showing pictures they had sent of her "new home." Please pray that the Holy Spirit continues to prepare Sabrina (and me) for this sudden transition.

Oh Mary, I can't begin to imagine how hard this is for you and Mike. When I was there in March, it was so beautiful to see how you both have a motherly and fatherly love for the children at CLM. What a gift God has given you. God chose you for this ministry because you are brave enough to open your heart to LOVE... even though you know it will break at times. And BECAUSE your heart breaks, it proves that you loved Sabrina with all your heart. You did what he asked of you. Good for you!! I will pray for you guys during this transition and pray for Sabrina. I'm so thankful God has provided for her in this way. She is such a precious child!
O Mary! I can't even imagine what your heart is going though! Sabrina is such a precious little girl. I am so thankful that God provided her first with your love at CLM and now with this new family. Praise God that you were there to help guide her transition in to this new family. I am praying for you as you work through letting her go and thanking God for your willingness to give from your heart even though at times it hurts! I am struggling through the next week as I say goodbye to by 19 students. I can't imagine not seeing them every day and I already tear up thinking of leaving them. I miss you all there and I am praying for you!
