Leah arrived back in October and has been with us for six months. She had come with the intention of taking care of children but did so much more than she had planned. She spent her first several weeks at Entre Rios before returning here to help us prepare for receiving children in December. She was involved with spreading gravel for the concrete, as well as landscaping around the pool. She helped to clean the entire house several times (during the construction phase, it seemed like we couldn't get rid of all the dust!) while using any free time to study Portuguese. When the children arrived, she began planning special things with each of them: popcorn and a movie in her room, painting nails, straightening hair...anything to let them know they were loved. She was involved each day after school with English classes, and she strived to make each lesson interesting and fun. In her free time, she would invite Lindsay and Jenna to go for a walk or play basketball or cards with Ben. She has been a blessing to all of us. We are so thankful for you, Leah! You will be missed! May God continue to guide your steps in His perfect will.
